Our dogs are important members of our family, we love, then show, then breed in that order!
We only breed to improve/maintain the breed or to keep a pup ourselves to show or carry on our bloodline. We only ever breed from dogs that are clear of the health checks that the KC recommend checking (and on some occasions more, ie ourbullmastiffs are eye tested also). All our dogs are also DNA profiled.
We aim to produce dogs that are close to the breed standard, that are healthy with size and substance. Most importantly to us is that the size of the dog does not hinder it's altheletism. We only keep/breed dogs with excellent temperaments, from carefully researched bloodlines.
Our dogs are exercised loose at least 3 times every day through our fields, and fed good quality, natural food, and all live harmoniously with cats, horses, sheep and our 2 young boys (aged for and 3 years).
Our pups are raised in our house, with lots of concentration on socialising, with the practical experience we have (both of our parents kept, breed or worked dogs) and the Behavioual Science Honours Degree I have, the importance of socialisation for future development/relationships is something we consider a priority.
In short we would keep our dogs if there was no such thing as showing or breeding, but because we breed we do it very responsibly and we have had some success in the short time we have spent in the show ring.
Siren got four 1st place at Championship Shows in 2006, numerous other placings, qualified for Crufts and came 4th at Crufts 2007. Hector was been placed as a pup at championship and open shows, but has only been shown lightly due to our time being commited to Siren, Hector will be shown in 2008 an hopefully will have the success of both of his parents in the show ring. Finally, watch out for 'Red' our new addition from Braeaaron Bullmastiffs (Braeaaron Serenity X CH Ferdhu Hoochi Coochi man) who wil be shown from mid way through 2008, and our home bred girl 'Blossom' aka Bullmeredith Guess Who (Bunsoro Moonstar of Bullmeredith X Vondabull Siren Lady of Bullmeredith) who will be shown Oct 08 onwards (depending on when our next human (!) baby arrives!). |
