My love of the Old English Sheepdog breed began many many moons ago when I was about 12 years old. My parents bought a bitch which we called 'Friday' - she was born on a Friday and we brought her home on a Friday so it just seemed appropriate.
As the years went by the family went on to own two other OES called 'Beau' and 'Harvey'.
My husband promised me that I could have my own OES when we had a house and garden big enough. It took us 20 years but we finally found the perfect place in 2007. We ended up getting not one but two OES - Max and Ellie.
After initially being very apprehensive I soon got the bug for Showing. With Max we are learning all the ins and outs of showing and hopefully he will have a successful show career. In 2008 he attended 9 Shows and out of these gained four 1st places including Best Puppy Dog at the East Anglian Open Show, two 2nd places and 3 reserve places. We have alot more Shows lined up for 2009 and will post all his results on this site and our website.
Ellie is no show-girl (as she gets very car sick) but she has a wonderful temperament and is a very comical pet.
My husband and I have now found a suitable bitch to be our 'foundation' bitch for our fledgling kennels. Her name is Phoebe (High Tea aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal) and she is currently in quarantine in Belgium in preparation for us to bring her into the UK on 1st March 2009. Further details and pictures etc can be found on our website. We will be Showing her with Max from March.
As future responsible breeders we will ensure that all our dogs have the current relevant health tests done prior to breeding. We will strive to follow the Kennel Club Breed Standard and will not participate in any breeding which will be detrimental to the health of the dogs or the breed.
Max's hip score = 11 (Right 4, Left 7)
Ellie's hip score = 7 (Right 4, Left 3)
Current Breed Mean Score = 19
Eye tests to be performed in January 2009.
