Happy mother and puppies!

My family have always been involved with dogs and in particular with the cocker spaniel. I have had a very busy life as an opera singer for 30 years despite being a country girl through and through.

On leaving home I initially kept 'show' cockers and bred from both my bitches successfully but I have been waiting all my life to be involved with the 'working' cocker strain. I adore the breed but have always wanted to have enough time to devote myself to training gundogs as well as breeding them, which I now do.

My present bitch has worked for 3 seasons and aquits herself exceptionally well when out beating. I've bred from her once and kept a bitch who, I think, will be fantastic behind the guns for pick-up in future seasons although I still have work to do with her. The mother has also done well in a couple of local obedience classes. My ambition is to have the time to learn more and be able to attend field trials...............but this is more about me being trained than my dogs!

The Nancarrow line (Hedley Millington of near Truro, Cornwall) has always been one that I have admired and my breeding bitch has some of this line in her as well as several other important lines and I have now put her to one of Hedley's dogs (Nancarrow Orinoco) and she is due to whelp in the middle of March.

Her last litter interestingly all went to 'pet-homes' and all the feedback I've had is immensely positive. They are great with children and I'm always asked when I'll have another litter. I hope to breed from the puppy I kept last time next year.
