VAKERANTI

VAKERANTI is taken from the names of some of the German Shepherds I have owned over the years. Viva (VA), Jake (KE), Tara (RA) and Xanti (NTI).

I have owned GSD's for over 20 years as pets. They have ranged from 12 weeks to 9 years old when they came to live with the family. This included two very special dogs which I took in from German Shepherd Welfare.

I always wanted to get involved in showing and in 2004 finally achieved that ambition with the purchase of Mirrwood Ulysses (Chaos) and Mirrwood Vicki (Havoc).

Shown from 14 months old, Chaos has been placed (in his relevant class) at almost every show he's attended. Unfortunately, Havoc did not take to being shown, she would rather chill out in the ring or better still, chase the pigeons!!! The help and advice of other GSD show people has been fantastic and are a credit to the breed.

My husband has had to adapt to having GSD's in his life but luckily he enjoys them as much as me (just as well bearing in mind the early starts sometimes to get to shows).

We now have our first home bred puppy - Vakeranti Delta Lady (who is named in honour of my 2nd love - the last remaining Vulcan delta wing aircraft capable of flight - Delta Lady XH558). We have retained two further puppies and will be showing them at open and championship shows.

We breed when we are looking to retain a puppy and are aiming to improve bloodlines with the introduction of working line dogs.
