Kortebin

We are a small show kennel which was established in 1970 and exhibited our first basset in 1971, we have been breeding basset hounds under the 'Kortebin' Affix since 1973.

Basset Hounds are the only breed we have owned and we only have puppies when we want another dog to exhibit. All puppies are house reared. We pride ourselves on having bred basset hounds for over 38 years which are true to type. Normally we will only have one litter every 1 to 2 years. All the dogs we own are K.C. DNA profiled.

All dogs we have seriously exhibited have gained their Kennel Club Stud Book numbers. The most notable recent successes are the breeding of two UK show champions - Ch. Kortebin Golden Perch, Ch. Kortebin Return of the King to Switherland, and two Australian Champions - Aus Ch Kortebin Ted Sandyman and the most recent Aus Ch Kortebin Eastfarthing. From a recent litter Kortebin Master Gamgee now has 4 Reserve Challenge Certificates. and his litter brother Kortebin Holbein of St Hubert also has three. Litter sister Kortebin Mistress Gamgee has a Stud Book Number and half sister Kortebin Elf Lady has been Best Puppy in Breed at both Darlington Championship show and the Ladies Kennel Association Championship show. Their Dam is the Midland Basset Hound Club's Brood Bitch of the Year 2009.

Within the show world we are both Championship Show Judges and members of seven Basset Hound Clubs in the UK.

Colin is currently President and Treasurer of the Hull and East Riding Canine Society, Chairman of Beverley Canine Society, Treasurer and a founder member of the Humberside Hound Association also a committee member of the Hound Association.

Trish is the Chairman of the Hull and East Canine Society, Vice Chairman of The Midland Basset Hound Club and is the secretary and a founder member of the Humberside Hound Society. She is also a committee member of Beverley Canine Society.
