Castlecoole

Welcome to "Castlecoole" German Shorthaired Pointers. We have owned a variety of dogs but my husband had admired the German Shorhaired Pointer breed for many years. We purchased our first dog when our three sons were quite young and couldnt believe the temperment of the dog. This was purchased as a working dog for shooting duck and pheasant. In 2003 we bought 'Amigo Star' at 6 mths old, he was trained to work and be a member of the family. In 2005 we bought Queen of Deverney a 2 yrs old bitch, with the intention of breeding a litter of pups at some stage. She was with us only a month when she was served by Amigo Star and 9 weeks later we had our first litter of 9 pups.
We have retained a daughter 'Castlecoole Irish Princess' and Castlecoole Daybreak Dawn.
We do not show the dogs. Our aim is to produce a dual purpose pointer but most of all a member of the family .
