Jasmine is our first Miniature Smooth coat Dachshund. After falling head over heels in love with our friends new dachie baby several months ago the hunt was on for my very own ' little sausage'. Not intending to breed or show one I found Jasmine a shaded red 14 week old second hand puppy no longer wanted by her new owners. She has a severley deformed front paw and cannot be shown but is purely and simply a pet. After a day on the road she came home and delighted us all. She fills the void that was left by the Maltese but with a lot less work, Jasmine is a true lap dog, mad on toys and loves to snuggle down in our bed at night. Little did we know how addictive these little dogs are though. Recently we were joined by 'Sokel I have a Dream' ...or Angel She is certianly no angel though. Angel is a silver dapple and is cheeky but so much fun. She is the second of hopefully more to come.

We are a small kennel our affix is Ournewfbears.
I first worked with Newfoundlands at the age of 18 and fell in love with the breed and was determined one day to own one or more of these big beautiful dogs.
I began showing dogs in my teens and started with my German Shepherd Zoe from the Dragonsteeth Kennel, and subsequently bred her to produce some fantastic dogs. Including my beloved 'Aras Vom Eiche', my wonderful boy who left my side for the rainbow bridge in 2000 and never a day goes by when I don't still think of my Aaron.

My first Maltese joined the family after I came backfrom Australia having seen the breed there and I quickly became keen on exhibiting the Maltese and breeding for pet homes and show homes. Sadly we lost our last Maltese in 2004 and no longer breed.

My first Newfoundland joined me when I moved to Scotland and was quickly joined by Shasz, Bosighey Emmanuel, my black show girl. Shasz has done well in the ring in her first year of showing.

Swanpool Scarlett and Gold joined us the following year and has been a great joy to us, although not huge in Newfie terms she is a fantastic show girl and qualified for Crufts 2005 and was placed first in her class, beating 16 other bitches.

Our beautiful Landseer boy is Taylor, Millthorpe Sea Storm, who has been shown and placed at Champ and Open shows. He is the biggest most beautiful and gentle Newf I have ever known.

We also have a beautiful black girl Bearomeo O'caiside who at the tender age of 23 months came to us having been passed through 3 other homes and not knowing why. She is a gentle, sometimes naughty, yes hens are for chasing and so are cats apparently. We renamed her Koni and after such a traumatic start in her her life she is now settled with us forever.

Ournewfbears Wahey Muskee was the first born pup from Koni's litter and the moment he was born we knew he was staying wth us.

Martha also joined us at the age of 18 months and she is also black from the Johbai Kennel, she is a small girl but very pretty and a livewire at times. She is such a special girl and has so much love to give.

Barbie our Brown and white Landseer is not destined for stardom of the ring but a loved and treasured pet to us. She stepped into the space left by Angel and Tikka our previous missmarks whom sadly both died at a young age.

We are fortunate to have returned to us 2 lovely girls Ournewfbears Angel Eyes - Keeva, and Ournewfbears Ebony Girl. Litter sisters bred by us in 2006 from Shasz and Taylor. They are stunning girls and fit into the family as though they have never left us. Thanks to Denise for entrusting them to us where they will lIve for the rest of their days and hopefully we will show them in the near future.

Ebony and Keeva arrived back 'home' bringing with them their kennel mates, Brooke...... Crisleja Winter Dancer and Secret..........Sandbears Secret. Both girls are such different characters. Secret is a dreadful thief, always making off with a grooming brush or two or someones shoe.If somethings missing, look for Secret! Her favourite thing is to give us a huge cuddle...... She has a wonderful temperament and is a joy to own, a bit of an air head and very simple but we adore her.
Brook is very loving although can be wary of men and likes her own way and wants to be top dog, it didn't take her long to realise who is the boss!

Our new brown girls came to us in a dreadful condition, we took them in and were horrified how emaciated they were, Bear weighed in at 22KG, and Nikki was around 30kg. Both were extremely smelly and had been badly underfed. After trips to the vet a good bath and lots of tlc and small but often feeds they are both now looking as they should, have good coats and lovely condition. These girls will stay with us forever, not destined for stardom or motherhood but just to be loved. 3 months of hard work has finally paid off with these 2 and they give so much love in return.

We currently have 13 Newfies in our family, all are treated and loved as pets and we do not breed from all of them just a select few.

In addition to the Newfies we have 1 St Bernard bred ourselves Frerika Tow Mater, or Edna as she is known to us. Edna was the result of a one off litter of saint sfrom our Maddison, 'Vikingstar Firebird'. Tragically Maddie died very suddenly and is missed so much. Her memory will live on in Edna but she was one in a million and can never be replaced.

Last but not least, our old German Shepherd girl, retired several years ago from breeding, Freida, aka Bedwins Olorosa, aproaching 12 but the mind thinks she is still only 2.......tyically Bedwins!!! Goss a retired, speyed, ex brood bitch from the Shadowsquad kennel came recently to join the clan.

Our latest arrival hobbled into place recently, a red shaded smooth haired miniature dachshund known as Jasmine. Sadly Jasmine was born with a severly deformed front paw and can not be shown but she is a pet who sleeps on our bed and rules the roost. Her new buddy arrived recently a silver dapple min dachshund. Both girls are inseperable.

Our canine family are homed happily alongside our human family and several pedigree cats, Siamese Balinese and Ragdoll and live happily amongst the beautiful scottish countryside.

We breed our dogs carefully, raise them with love, care and nothing but the best.

All our puppies are raised in our home, handled by children daily and usually paper trained by 7 weeks and house trained very early by new owners. They are socialised early and go to their new homes with a lifetime of back up from us.
Our puppies are not forgotten once they have left us, and we insist on new owners keeping in touch.
