Crankross Kennels has been actively breeding & showing high quality Labradors and Pointers for over 25 years.

Crankross Kennels started in 1979 by Louise Oxley. Beginning with 2 Labradors (Ruselton The Baroness & Strinesdale John Bull), the kennel has produced many stunning examples of the breed over the years. The kennel was granted the Crankross affix by the Kennel Club in 1986 when Crankross Cream Cracker began her show career. She gained Junior Warrant the same year and went on to win many firsts at champ and open show levels, winning many best of breeds and gaining stud book entry.

Cream Cracker's progeny, Crankross Calamity Jane (JW) & Crankross Charlie Boy both gained stud book numbers and, following mother's footsteps, won many firsts and BoBs.

Following success in Labrador Retrievers, the kennel began to breed and show Pointers in 1989 starting with Keepersgate Amethyst & Lebry Vogue. With these began the Crankross Pointer lines, starting with Crankross Chantilly Lace & Crankross Kestrel. Both dogs gained their stud book numbers. The kennel's major success came with Show Champion Crankross Candy Girl. Winning 12 CCs, 7 RCCs and 11 BoBs; she was the Kennel Club's Top Pointer Bitch UK in 1998/9 and gained BoB at Crufts 2000.

Louise Oxley has been in judging since 1989. She currently judges Pointers at Championship Show level and Labradors and all Gundogs at Open Show level.

Crankross Kennels continues to breed dogs to a high standard and retains a deep passion for pedigree dogs.
