Legge (with permission) | | I bought my first Rottie in 1984 - and from that moment on I fell in love with the breed. At present we have 6 adult Rotties plus 3 pups from our last litter, all living in the house as very spoilt family pets as most of the adults are retired from showing now. We are thrilled with our three new babies, who are showing great promise. Already they have developed great characters and keep us on our toes all day long.
We are predominantly a show home. I first started showing our family Boxer at the age of 10 in the USA. We had always had Boxers in our family and in 1984, when I had only one Boxer left, I bought our first Rottie as a companion to the Boxer. From that moment on I was in love with the breed. The rest, as they say, was history. I could never imagine being without a Rottie in my home.
I've been lucky enough to have owned and bred several Rotties that have had distiguished show careers.
After a severe neck injury in 1995 made showing my Rotties difficult, I added a Lancashire Heeler to my show dogs. Tyke - Colnestar Jailhouse Rock at Audaxus- has been a consistant winner for me. At his first show, Brimingham National, he won Best Puppy in Breed and in 2001 won his Graduate class at Crufts. I now have 9 Lancashire Heelers - as well as 9 Rottweilers -sharing my home with me. From our last litter of Rotties in 2007 we kept 3 of the pups and they are already proving successful in the show ring.
I have achieved my Judging Diploma and very occassionally will judge, when showing schedule permits.
All of my dogs live with me and my husband in our home as family pets - they are not kenneled outside.
Vistors to our home must be prepared to be greeted by a riot of happy dogs.
I am a Kennel Club Accredited Breeder. My dogs are regularly health screened. The stable nature and shining health of my Rotts allows my vets to call on my Rotts as emergency blood donors when the need arises. Rotties must have a hip score below average to be bred from and the Heelers must have annual eye tests.
We hope our family and friends are enjoying a successful showing year - we are!! . I'd also like to offer a great big 'THANK YOU' to Tracy & Slim Hunting - and, of course, Oedin - for such a magnificent litter of pups and for all their help and support. To Tina and Paul Edwards for their unstinting friendship , help and generousity. And finally, to Pauline and John Gater - for Tyke and Alfie, and for being such good friends over the years. Bless you all!!
