The 'Amarantos' kennel have a strong reputation of consistently producing well-bred, quality Chihuahuas over the past 29 years. We have exhibited the breed for this period of time, not simply owned the occasional family pet. We did not start to breed until we knew exactly what we wanted to produce.

Est. in 1981 we have crowned five UK Champions ~ plus multiple C.C. & res. C.C. winning dogs in the UK. The kennel also boasts several overseas Champions with only a small number of dogs being exported; the majority of these have gained their titles, some having multiple titles.

Many exhibitors have enjoyed success in the show-ring with a youngster purchased from us. Wins including BIS; BPIS; CC's; res. CC's.

Having recently introduced the smoothcoat variety, we have homebred some quality puppies.

I am a Breed Specialist Judge in both varieties at Championship level.

KIAM is a pale red with slight sable markings. He has good head features, positive movement & a glorious coat; his most attractive friendly and outgoing temperament makes him an excellent ambassador in promoting the breed. Weight: 4lb.

He is at stud to approved bitches.

Amarantos Leon

LEON is a gold/sable parti-colour with an outstanding head. He carries a little less body coat than his kennel mate, but has correct fringing. He moves well and again has a commanding presence. Weighing in at 3.5lb.

Leon is now retired from stud.

Amarantos Alfa

Alfa is a son of Leon's ~ nephew to Kiam as he is a grandson of 'A. Sonja'.

Alfa is a warm blonde colour. At now 4 years of age he has won many classes at Championship level and gained 2 Res. CC's along the way. He took Best Puppy of Breed twice at Championship level and won Best Puppy in Show at Club Open level.

He has inherited the striking head of his sire and is able to reproduce this in his progeny. He has a well balanced frame, excellent tail set and well feathered plume.

Elliot is our homebred clear red male. Although only shown on an ocassional basis (due to our commitments to the longcoats) ~ he has been quite successful in the showring.

He is of sound construction and carries a well domed head piece with correct ear set. He is a fine coated smooth, does not display the double coat, or appear to produce it.

He has taken Best Puppy in Breed at his first show @ Breed Club Open level. He recently won Best of Breed at the Cheshire show 2010 and has won his Post Graduate dog class at the Welsh KC Championship show ~ giving him his qualifier for Crufts 2011.

Elliot is siring quality puppies and is available at stud to approved bitches.
