The first Beksam puppies were born in the 1960s when my parents, Joy and Arthur Ford bred their first litter of Boston Terriers. In the early 1970s we bought our first Bearded Collie and I went in to partnership with my parents. We bred, showed and loved our Beardies for many years. In fact, in 2004 we lost our last girl after 35 years of happy Beardie ownership.

In the intervening years we have also come to love other breeds and our main interests have diverged.

My parents bought a whippet in 1981 and I was hooked. I now only have whippets here at my home in Lincolnshire. My parents no longer breed but still have one whippet and a Spanish Water Dog, and four Miniature Schnauzers.

All our dogs live in the house, and are primarily much loved members of the family. However, I enjoy breeding and showing. I don't breed many litters but when I do, I strive to produce puppies of high quality and excellent temperament. I am always delighted to hear of the joy my puppies bring to their new owners.
